Leadership development · Capability in the flow of work

The work doesn’t wait
for the course.

The center of gravity in this field has moved, and so have I. Completion is not capability, and a class scheduled for next quarter does nothing for a manager with a hard conversation on Thursday. What I build now is a curated suite of learning, resources and dynamic tools people pull from at the moment of need, with skills and capability first and structured cohort work reserved for the transitions that genuinely require a room, and AI carrying the practice repetition no faculty can staff.

Behind it is a portfolio of eleven shipped products, most built from the ground up, the EFX Leadership Institute and the NBMBAA Institute, myCareer, myOnboarding, myPerformance and myTalent, NBMBAA 2.0 and the Best Credit Education Series, for populations of 3,000 to 20,000 workers on Workday, Skillsoft, Coursera and Hivebrite, measured on retention and time-to-value rather than completion.

01 · Bio

I came to learning from the P&L side

My first two jobs were senior staff accountant and senior data and financial analyst. I read a P&L statement before I ever wrote a learning objective, and that sequence permanently shaped the order I work in. I look at the desired end state first: the data, the outputs, the prototypes, the outcomes, what success looks and feels like for the end user, before a single input gets created.

I spent a decade at Randstad, moving through six roles from Organizational Development Consultant to Director of Organizational Effectiveness, owning the learning function throughout, 10 lines of business, a $3M budget and a team of 13 by the end, and was chosen from 500 HR professionals globally for the Netherlands high-potential assignment at global HQ. Equifax hired me to run learning and organizational change and promoted me within fourteen months to own all of global talent management, 20,000 workers across 26 countries, and the EFX Leadership Institute, which put roughly 2,000 leaders a year through structured development.

Today I am Chief Learning & Strategy Officer at the National Black MBA Association, where I was hired to create the NBMBAA Institute: a four-track digital learning product now serving 3,000+ learners, and where I own the 10,000-attendee conference and career expo end to end, from hiring the speakers and musical talent to hosting it from the stage. In 2025 they added Strategy to the chair and asked me to open new revenue streams through partnerships. That partnership work is what I am proudest of right now. I have been faculty at The Executive Leadership Council since 2021, teaching social identity and executive leadership to senior executives from IBM, Deloitte, Merck, Capital One, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture and others.

Alongside that I co-founded CulTRUE, a workforce-intelligence startup where I hold the AI and data strategy chair. The product is an AI-forward employee alignment tool that measures a workforce against five fulfillment factors and the company’s own stated values, analyzes and solutions for microcultures, and closes with an individual action plan and collective team plan. I built the MVP myself and I use it in sales proposals today; a Corewell Health Report, built on sample data, is in the portfolio. I am a fractional learning consultant for Independent Sector, building the Advocacy Activation Validation Series; and I sit on the MBA Program Advisory Council at Western Governors University and the National Advisory Board of Independent Sector’s Center of Excellence on the Nonprofit Workforce.

Through NBMBAA I also work with colleges, states and universities to move their learning landscape onto AI. I built the Howard University MBA Program Innovation proposal, which embeds stackable credentials from nationally accredited bodies into the degree to answer falling graduate enrollment, and the State of MD Workforce Development Transformation with the Governor’s office, which layers business ownership and an AI maturity ladder onto Maryland’s existing trades and apprenticeship programs.

My doctorate is in Organizational Leadership Studies from Northeastern University. The dissertation, “The quest for innovation: learning systems and innovativeness within a global organization,” is grounded in Parsons’s theory of social systems and in Schwandt and Marquardt’s model for organizational learning systems. The work instills learning agility, showing how an organization that stays open to learning, and supports that openness with practices such as design thinking, keeps innovating as conditions change.

Look at the desired end state: the data, the outputs, the prototypes, the outcomes, before the input is ever created.

Where the architecture has actually run

A curriculum is a hypothesis until it is deployed against a real population with a real budget and a measurement obligation.

National Black MBA Association

Chief Learning & Strategy Officer (2025 – present)
Chief Learning Officer (Apr 2024 – 2025)

Hired to create the NBMBAA Institute, a digital learning product with four tracks (AI, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Wealth), which I run alongside the 10,000-attendee conference and career expo and a 300-partner corporate portfolio. I personally run the Leadership track. Promoted in 2025 to add Strategy to the chair and lead NBMBAA 2.0: four new partner-built revenue products on a Hivebrite and Skillsoft stack.

  • 3,000+ learners across four tracks
  • 9.5/10 learner satisfaction
  • +40% engagement
  • 300 corporate partners in portfolio

The Executive Leadership Council

Part-time Faculty, Executive Leadership
Jul 2021 – present

Cohort-based development for senior executives from IBM, Deloitte, Merck, Capital One, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture and others, covering social identity and executive leadership, strategy and vision, leading change, data and storytelling, influence and persuasion, and running a P&L. This is tier III and tier IV material under live conditions, before an audience that will not tolerate generic content.

  • 700+ senior executives graduated
  • 97 Net Promoter Score
  • 7 global client organizations
  • 5 years of continuous faculty appointment

Equifax

VP, Learning & Organizational Change, then VP, Global Talent Management
Apr 2020 – Mar 2024

Built the EFX Leadership Institute and the named product suite beneath it: myCareer, myOnboarding, myPerformance and myTalent, across 26 countries, with 6,000 roles mapped to 22 bands and AI/ML career pathing on Workday SkillsCloud. Learning reached all 20,000 workers, contractors included; the performance and onboarding cycles covered 12,000 employees.

  • An organization of 89 across 26 countries, direct, indirect, matrixed and vendor, run from the global Talent Center of Excellence
  • ~2,000 leaders developed per year across 6 programs
  • 3,000 employees onboarded annually at 95% satisfaction
  • +21% first-year retention
  • 2 acquisitions integrated: Kount and Boa Vista
  • Top 100 of 12,000, CEO Global Circle of Excellence, 2021

Independent Sector

Fractional Learning Consultant
Jun 2026 – present

Designed the Advocacy Activation Validation Series and now facilitate it live. The series runs with 13 nonprofits as a validation cohort before it scales digitally to the 1.8 million nonprofits in the United States: a deliberately small proof ahead of a very large rollout.

  • 13 nonprofits in the validation cohort
  • 1.8 million US nonprofits in the scaling population
  • Designed, built and facilitated end to end

Randstad

Six roles, consultant to director
Apr 2010 – Apr 2020

Six successive roles across ten years, consultant to director, ending as Director of Organizational Effectiveness, 10 lines of business, a $3M budget and a team of 13. Selected from 500 HR professionals globally for the Netherlands high-potential assignment at global HQ. I authored the robotic process automation champion and peer-to-peer training strategy that made the rollout stick.

  • $1.3M annual savings from the robotic process automation champion and peer-to-peer training strategy
  • $3M budget · team of 13
  • Randstad Presidents’ Club, 2017

Work samples

Four live artifacts, each built in the last year. They are the clearest evidence I can offer of how I actually work now: design the end state first, build a working version, put it in front of the people who have to use it, and let the artifact carry the argument.

CulTRUE · product MVP

Corewell Health sample report

This is the MVP I built for the AI-forward product I own the strategy for, and the one I put in front of buyers today. It is an employee alignment tool that measures a workforce against five fulfillment factors and the company's own stated values, analyzes and solutions for microcultures, and closes with an individual action plan and collective team plan. I designed the instrument, the scoring and the report.

Built on sample data. No client information appears in it.

Corewell Health Report

NBMBAA · enablement

Chapter marketing toolkit

Our chapters were being asked to fill conference seats without being taught how. I built the toolkit that teaches them: ready-to-paste social copy by platform, seventeen finished graphics, a five-email sequence including the note a member sends their manager for approval, a five-week cadence, and the brand rules. No account, no software, no design skill required. Enablement in the flow of the work, aimed at growing the registration base.

Howard University MBA Program Innovation

A learning expansion proposal I took to Howard University's School of Business. Graduate enrollment is falling and an MBA alone no longer clears the bar, so the proposal embeds stackable credentials into the degree: 300+ AI-enabled certification pathways from 25 nationally accredited bodies, PMI, AWS, SHRM, CompTIA, ASQ and others, earned progressively alongside coursework. Two implementation options and no curriculum redesign required, starting with a 200-student pilot, because I would rather prove a model on two hundred students than argue for it across an entire college. Part of a broader push I lead with colleges, states and universities to move their learning landscape onto AI.

Howard University MBA Program Innovation

NBMBAA · public sector

State of MD Workforce Development Transformation

Built for the Governor's office. Maryland's apprenticeship and trades programs teach residents to run a business but not to own one, so this layers an ownership operating system on top of the infrastructure already there, then converts the business into a custom AI-enabled one. For job and knowledge seekers it also carries a full AI ladder: a corporate AI maturity assessment, an individual readiness assessment, personalized micro-trainings, and AI skills advancement pointed at the job search. Designed to be replicable across all fifty states.

State of MD Workforce Development Transformation

These open in a new tab. Each is a working page rather than a slide about one.

03 · Products built

Eleven products, shipped and measured

Every one of these had a defined user population, a platform, an adoption problem to solve and a number it was accountable to. Four of them, myCareer, myOnboarding, myPerformance and myTalent, shipped as a named suite. I have implemented Skillsoft at enterprise scale twice, globally at Equifax and again at NBMBAA, so the catalog at the end of this page sits inside my operating experience.

myCareer

6,000

Career architecture · roles mapped

Reimagined the career architecture covering 6,000 roles across 22 bands and 11 levels, with AI/ML career pathing implemented on Workday SkillsCloud. Skills linked directly to operating-model design, so a career path was a structural object rather than a conversation.

myOnboarding

+21%

First-year retention · 3,000 employees a year

A brand-new global onboarding program, spanning day −15 to day 365, which I created and then scaled. 95% satisfaction and a 21% lift in first-year retention, with time-to-value as the measure. Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Onboarding, 2022.

myPerformance

12,000

Employees in annual cycle

The full performance cycle as a single product surface with tools, templates, training and marketing resources, inclusive of: goal setting, midyear review, career conversations and annual review, running for 12,000 employees across 26 countries. Performance and onboarding were employee-only; the learning library was open to all 20,000 workers.

myTalent

26

Countries · succession & workforce planning

Full-cycle talent review from individual contributors through SLT successors, and global workforce planning including executive-level reviews. Instrumented with succession depth as a leading indicator reviewed alongside business KPIs.

EFX Leadership Institute

~2,000

Leaders graduated per year · 6 programs

A six-program leadership development system tying the talent pipeline to organizational design and strategic workforce requirements, with AI-driven learning personalization across Skillsoft and Coursera and post-deployment monitoring: the part most personalization rollouts skip.

OD&E analytics dashboards

3

Signal streams · NBMBAA

Transparency dashboards track engagement signals, learning outcomes and partnership ROI, built so leadership decisions run on evidence. The Institute’s numbers surface here.

NBMBAA Institute

3,000+

Learners · four tracks

Hired to create it. A four-track digital learning product; AI, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Wealth, now serving 3,000+ learners at 9.5/10 satisfaction and +40% engagement. I personally run the Leadership track.

NBMBAA 2.0

4

New revenue products · partner-built

Promoted in 2025 to add Strategy to the chair, with a mandate to run NBMBAA 2.0 product innovation and open new revenue streams through partnerships. Shipped four partner products, the Genius Factor assessment, an entrepreneurship and mentorship curriculum with Gravy Wealth, an AI enablement curriculum with Grey AI, and an executive coaching practice, all running on Hivebrite for member engagement with a digital learning library on Skillsoft.

Best Credit Education Series

1st

Equifax’s first credit education program

Built and launched the company’s first credit education program, then scaled it globally. A credit bureau teaching credit literacy: on-mission product work, started from nothing.

CruncHR predictive modeling

57

Global project managers · Randstad HQ, The Netherlands

Implemented an HR predictive modeling platform at global headquarters, created the global mobility program, and designed and ran the annual engagement survey through 57 global project managers. People analytics built as infrastructure, inside a company of 39,000 across 52 countries.

Robotic process automation

$1.3M

Annual savings · Randstad

I authored the robotic process automation champion and peer-to-peer training strategy that made the rollout stick, saving $1.3M a year through measured cycle-time reduction. Separately, employee-experience metrics analysis across 5,000 employees drove the career-pathing program that lifted job satisfaction 23%.

04 · Methods

How I determine what to build

Nobody hands you the requirements for a learning product. The question is what someone is about to have to do. Every program on this page started with interviews, or a survey or a journey/experience mapping exercise, and most were shipped deliberately small first.

Discovery

Interviews, surveys, journeys

I ran an in-house consulting practice at Randstad whose method was interviewing. Teams came to us without a shape, and we designed one: new roles, hierarchy, success metrics, tools and templates, from what those interviews surfaced. The same practice designed customer-facing solutions, including hiring and psychological assessments.

  • Global engagement survey: I ran the process through 57 project managers, then interviewed leaders on the findings and built programs out of what came back: career advancement and corporate social responsibility for career readiness.
  • Voice of the customer (NPS): a standing practice line in the consulting function, not an occasional exercise.
  • Employee-experience metrics analysis across 5,000 employees, which produced the career-pathing program and a 23% satisfaction lift.

MVP and agile

I teach this, then I use it

I teach the MVP process alongside agile in one of my own courses, Design with A.G.I.L.E. Thinking big while starting small is not a method I borrowed; it is the one I train other people in and then run myself.

  • Skillsoft implementation at Equifax, piloted before it went global.
  • myOnboarding: a brand-new global program, not a rebuild. I created it and scaled it across day −15 to day 365, reaching 95% satisfaction and +21% first-year retention.
  • Customer experience journeys at Randstad for new staffing solutions.
  • NBMBAA 2.0, four partner products, each proven before it was scaled.

In the room

Every role since 2010

Every role since 2010 has required in-person delivery, in addition to digital. I have been delivering development to leaders since 2014 and managing people since 2013. Digital products are half of what I build; the other half is standing in front of a room of executives who did not want to be there.

That continues today: five years of ELC faculty, the Advocacy Activation Validation Series facilitated live for Independent Sector, and the NBMBAA executive development program.

Goals and tracking

OKRs · KPIs · OGSM

Three frameworks at three organizations: OKRs at Randstad, KPI cascades at Equifax, and OGSM: Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures, at NBMBAA. Each came with its own metrics architecture underneath: leading indicators and outcome measures reviewed alongside business results, where the business could see them.

The framework matters less than whether anyone acts on it. Three times I have picked the framework that fit the organization rather than importing the one I happened to know.

I have built an annual strategic plan for the businesses I have run every year since 2013, across Randstad, Equifax and NBMBAA. Each cycle means setting the direction, resourcing it, and standing behind it when the numbers come back.

05 · Original work

A framework, a book and a measurement instrument

Alongside the catalog I design original intellectual property: a development framework, the book that carries it, and an instrument that turns it into scores a person and an organization can act on.

The Art of Flourishing

Framework · authoring the book

A five-step development model I use across coaching, cohort work and keynote delivery. Its organizational translation is what makes it useful inside a company: the same five moves, applied to a system rather than a self.

  • SeeTell the truth about what is actually happening
  • OwnLocate accountability, not blame
  • ReleasePut down what no longer serves the strategy
  • AlignMake the system match the intent
  • BloomMake it visible, and make it multiply

The Flourishing Index

Instrument · Snapshot shipped

A developmental instrument built around five capacity scores plus a Truth Access measure. The Flourishing Snapshot, the free 12-item edition, is live and has been run with real respondents; the full 66-item edition and the cohort administration are specified and in development. Designed for reflection, not diagnosis.

  • Full instrument 66 items
  • Score dimensions 5 + Truth Access
  • Snapshot 12 items · 3 min
  • Cohort administration Aggregate report

Why it belongs here

Product · not publication

Building the Index meant doing the whole product loop myself: user discovery, item writing and reduction, scoring design, the report generator and the delivery funnel. Most leadership practitioners have taught a curriculum. Fewer have had to specify an instrument, ship the Snapshot to real respondents, and lay out the validation sequence that has to run before anyone can claim it measures what it says it measures.

The Art of Flourishing, front and back cover, Champagne and Graphite brand system
The Art of Flourishing, cover concept, front and back. The design system, Champagne & Graphite, is one I built and maintain across the book, the instrument and the site.

06 · Boards & faculty

Seats where curriculum decisions get made

Three appointments concerned with the same question at different scales: what people should be taught, and how we would know it worked. They cover a national MBA program, a national workforce and a senior executive cohort, and I helped bring three more into existence.

MBA Program Advisory Council

Western Governors University · Apr 2026 – present

Recruited to advise solely on the Management Program within the College of Business, and invited three months later to sit on the council for the entire MBA program, which governs the redesign of WGU’s MBA: 6,141 active students and 31,676 graduates since 2014. The charge is to rebuild a competency-based curriculum for the AI era: leadership capability, AI fluency, applied experience and verified workforce readiness. The average learner is 41 and already managing teams, so this is adult development at national scale, not undergraduate advising.

National Advisory Board

Center of Excellence on the Nonprofit Workforce, Independent Sector · Jun 2026 – present

The Center is building the nation’s first coordinated, equity-centered infrastructure for nonprofit workforce health, sector transformation and cross-sector collaboration. The board guides research, policy alignment, narrative strategy and national adoption across four pillars: knowledge creation and sharing, public policy, power building, and resources and training. Seats are drawn from nonprofit executives, philanthropy, corporate social impact, researchers, workforce development experts and policy advocates; I was invited for the workforce development seat. Quarterly board meetings, monthly subcommittees and an annual retreat at the National Summit.

Part-time Faculty, Executive Leadership

The Executive Leadership Council · Jul 2021 – present

Teaching social identity and executive leadership, strategy, change, influence and P&L command to senior executives from IBM, Deloitte, Merck, Capital One, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture and others. 700+ graduates, 97 NPS. The room where the tier III and tier IV curriculum is stress-tested against people who run real P&Ls.

Founding seats

Founding a board is organizational design work: charter, governance, sponsorship, membership model and a reason to keep funding it after the launch enthusiasm wears off. The test is whether it survives its founders. One of these now has 5,000 members, and another is still going twenty-one years on.

  • BOLD Black Organization for Leveraging Differences, Equifax’s inaugural Black employee network. Founding advisory board member.
  • College Clinic A nonprofit transitioning students and parents into college and beyond through academic preparedness, financial literacy and basic life skills, delivered as school classroom programs, community workshops on the FAFSA, essays and scholarship search, and a free digital eCampus. Founding board member since 2005. Twenty-one years, and the longest-running seat I hold.
  • Global Women’s Network Founding board member, designed for the whole 26-country footprint from the start. Membership now stands at 5,000.

07 · The AI era

Map the work first, then decide what a model touches

I run the Leadership track of the NBMBAA Institute and hold the AI and data strategy chair at a workforce-intelligence startup, and I work daily in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Manus, Base44 and Gamma. Daily operation is what makes my position on it procedural.

The category is mid-pivot

Josh Bersin calls the destination Dynamic Enablement, and the honest read of 2026 is that the whole category is between models rather than settled on one. The unit of delivery is moving from the course to the moment of need. The course does not disappear; it stops being the default answer to every capability gap.

The budget is moving, not shrinking

Bersin’s blunt version: money spent on traditional training solutions is going to fall over time, and the AI budgets are already allocated and waiting. Whoever runs a leadership school now is being asked to move that money, not defend it. That is a portfolio decision before it is a technology decision.

Builders, not just buyers

Bersin’s advice to organizations is to be builders rather than buyers, so the answer is not a vendor, it is a boundary. License the content libraries and the simulation engine; build the layer that knows the actual work. Buy the commodity, build the context.

Map before you automate

Decide what a model drafts, what an agent runs end to end, what an AI employee owns as a standing role, and what stays human because judgment is the product. The last category is larger in leadership development than almost anywhere else, and naming it protects the parts of a curriculum that should never be synthetic.

Then build the guardrails

The risk sits in an organization adopting faster than it can govern. Governance belongs at the start of a learning product as a design constraint, not at the end of one as a review gate.

Reach is the actual prize

AI’s honest contribution here is scale: personalization, practice partners and assessment at a volume no faculty can staff. The reach into tier I and tier II is substantial. The room where a senior leader is challenged by peers stays human.

The leadership library I’ve curated, sorted by span of accountability

This is a sample resource library people pull from: on-demand content filtered by need, with AI simulations attached for practice. The library is tiered by the width of the system someone is accountable for rather than by topic, so a person finds what they need without a nomination. Every item here is one I facilitate, but the tiers are navigation; nobody is marched through them in order.

The library is licensed; what I bring is curation and deployment: deciding what belongs in it, matching population to tier, and running the rooms that can’t be self-served. My own authored courses are listed separately below.
